Free Screenings at the 2017 New Orleans Film Festival
The New Orleans Film Society discovers, cultivates, and amplifies diverse voices of filmmakers who tell the stories of our time. NOFS produces the Academy-accredited New Orleans Film Festival annually and to share transformative cinematic experiences with audiences. Paste Magazine praised the festival for offering “a platform to voices that still fight to be heard.”
As part of our commitment to expanding access to the arts, The Helis Foundation supports a strand of free screenings and events throughout the New Orleans Film Festival engaging new attendees at the Festival.
At the 2017 New Orleans Film Festival:
- 11 free film screenings were attended by 504 community members
- 14 free panels and roundtables were attended by 407 community members
- 672 free tickets to 42 films were distributed to non-profit community partners
