Long Vue Artist-In-Residence Program

The Artist-in-Residence program at Longue Vue is inspired by a long-lasting dedication to the arts by the organization’s founders, Edith and Edgar Stern. The 2018 Artist-in-Residence, supported by a grant from The Helis Foundation, is Jamar Pierre.

J.Pierre was also chosen by the NOLA Foundation to create a piece of art, Resilience (2018), that represents 300 years of New Orleans history to celebrate the Tricentennial year. J.Pierre brings over 20 years of experience in art and art education to Longue Vue, and a lifetime of passion for sharing and expressing the spirit and culture of our city. Over the course of the year, he will be teaching workshops for families, adults, and children, holding two exhibits, and participating in Longue Vue’s community and philanthropic programming.
